For those who are familiar with Vocaloid, you may have noticed that a very very large number of the famous and high ranking Vocaloid videos on Youtube (mostly Miku’s) have been taken down and many accounts deleted because “copyright infringement.” (One such account that I know of was Turrent who had subbed many of Miku’s videos and the other vocaloid videos like Duke of Venomania, Hold and Release, Leia, and The Tailor Shop on Enbizaka etc)
However, those copyright infringement claims are false and those videos are being reported by some group that does not like Miku or the Vocaloids. (Some think it is because of the Olympic Voting thing.)
The companies listed as the ones making the claims are Media Interactive Inc. and 笹金 純一 . However these companies do not own the Vocaloid videos they have been taken down and they have been making false claims.
Yamaha, Crypton, Sega and ToysFactory, are not concerned with uploading of Vocaloid videos as long as those videos remain not-for-profit. Which many of the subbed videos being taken down are not doing. The P’s aka the ones who make the songs and videos and who are the true copyright holders not this Media Interactive and 笹金 純一.
Through some more google-fu, I found out that this Media Interactive group is the same one that got Utada Hikaru and Lady Gaga’s youtube accounts being taken down for the same thing.
I know that a lot of people aren’t into Vocaloid but even so if you could please signal boost this and spread the word. Those who are, please follow the link to find out what you can do to get these videos and account back and to stop these groups from taking down more of the Vocaloid videos.
