Mistreatment Awareness Day? Seriously?
So my governor, Nathan Deal, for the second year in a row has issued a proclamation renaming International Day Against Homophobia to "Mistreatment Awareness Day" and removing any references to LGBT rights.
Yeah. It’s stupid and demeaning to the real issues and meaning behind IDAHO. The Governor’s office refuses to address the issue of homophobia and the concerns of its LGBT citizens. What he and his office is doing is an example of homophobia. The Georgia House of Representatives are on the side of the activists and want Deal to change it back. But he won’t budge.
So everyone please sign and spread this petition demanding that Governor Deal to reissue the proclamation and to stop sanitizing the word homophobia. It is real and what he’s doing shows that.
